I am always open to new products and Miss Jessies has worked well for my hair. I am not of Mixed Heritage but it gives me a great hold. I have found with what ever product I use by who ever I MUST give moisture in the morning. I use the curly puddy to set my hair and the butter creme to moisturize DAILY! Small amount and fingure through. I 2 strand twist with the curly puddy, sit under the dryer 45 minutes ( air dry doesn't work well for me my hair is TOOO thick! unless I am wearing the twist for 3 -4 days), take out in the morning and finger thru with the butter creme. Sleep in a satin cap get up in the morning and fluff with the butter creme. It last about a week. Over the weekend it becomes a puff. I brush it back spray a little water on the front and use the butter creme to smooth as needed ( no alchol gel if you want but the butter creme is fine). You hair must me WET dripping for the product to work well. Hope all is well and this helps some I love it!

I used Miss Jessie’s curly pudding on my hair and twisted it last night. I was pleasantly surprised to see how great my hair looked this morning when I took the twist out. I would recommend this product…

This is hands down my favorite product. The amla cream is too heavy for my hair, but many of the others are too light. This one hits the middle ground. My hair always feels so soft when I use it. I twist my hair (wet) with it.

I used Miss Jessie's curly pudding (scented) and had an allergic reaction to it. I got hives everywhere the pudding or my hair touched. My whole face,my shoulders, neck, ears, everywhere. In all my 20 years of using thousands of products, I've never had a reaction to any of them. I looked at the ingredients and there were a few things that I have never seen before, probably one of those items did it. So test it first ladies.

Great site, and thank you for your candor. I have been natural for some time now, though I've gone back to the "texturizer" crutch a time or two. I do have color, though - I'm not ready to be gray at this stage of my life! Sites like yours are the next best thing to an acutal sister circle for hair that meets on Saturdays.

My daughter has kinky curly hair and I have tried many products on both of our hair, so far I like the Blended Beauty products, I use the Butter me Up product to tame the frizzies and for her edges and it works very well. I have also tried Kinky Curly, the product works well if you use it right, which is very little amount. But it is an expensive product to have shipped, they need to implement smaller packaging for that product.

Mod Note: I understand our culture is a very strong influence on who we are and how we see the world, but as the blog says, my natural hair is NOT something to be "tamed". Even the frizzies!
